A Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Associate position is available in the Flyak laboratory in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Cornell University. A candidate will drive a fully funded structure-based vaccine discovery project.

At the Flyak lab at Cornell University, we study human antibody response to viral pathogens. We are currently focused on discovering the main principles of effective antibody response to the highly genetically diverse Hepatitis C virus - a leading cause of chronic liver disease and liver cancer. The candidate will use cross-disciplinary immunology and structural biology tools to dissect human antibody response to Hepatitis C virus. The candidates should have a Ph.D. degree and first author publication(s) accepted in a peer-reviewed journal(s). Desirable candidates will also have good experience with biochemistry, protein purification, and X-ray crystallography. Prior experience with single particle cryo-EM is preferred but not required. Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
