POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY A NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Neurogenetics at Duke University, led by Dr. Pelin Volkan. We are looking for a highly motivated and accomplished scientist interested in how social experience affects gene regulation, neural circuit function, and behavior in the Drosophila. The research project will involve the following techniques: RNA and ChIP Sequence analysis Genetic and molecular manipulation of courtship/aggression circuits in the brain Behavioral analysis Live-imaging and immunohistochemical analysis of Drosophila brain All candidates with an interest in the effects of social experience on brain and behaviors are encouraged to apply. Ph.D. in Developmental Biology, Neuroscience, Computational biology, or a related field is required. Experience with live-imaging, electrophysiology, bioinformatics, or Drosophila biology is desired.
