The Institute for Enterprise Engineering in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University (Durham, NC) invites applications for a Executive in Residence position. The Pratt School of Engineering is seeking a director to lead and managed its Master of Engineering degree track focused on Cybersecurity.

The major responsibilities of this position will be to (1) teach two courses per year and (2) to be the Academic Director of the Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity. In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Enhance and oversee a world-class interdisciplinary academic program.
  • Collaborate across program, institute, department, and school boundaries.
  • Identify and hire innovative faculty to teach the curriculum.
  • Develop and deliver innovative and applied, problem-based courses.
  • Support the development of co-curricular programs for students.
  • Promote the program to external constituencies.
  • Direct student recruiting and student admissions process.
  • Engage with industry leaders through seminars, an advisory board, and project experiences.

Ideal candidates would have Cybersecurity experience in either an academic, government or corporate setting. The preferred candidate will have working experience as a CISO, network engineer, and/or cloud engineer with security responsibilities and development experience.  They would also have a PhD or commensurate industry experience/expertise in a Cybersecurity related discipline, such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, as well as teaching/course development experience. Existing industry and or government relations in the Cybersecurity space is highly desirable.  This position is expected to be full time, but other levels of commitment may be considered.
