GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY J. Mack Robinson College of Business (RCB) Department of Finance ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF FINANCE, TENURE-TRACK Applicants are sought for a tenure track, Assistant Professor of Finance faculty appointment in the Department of Finance to be effective Fall Semester 2023. Applicants are required to hold a PhD degree in finance or a related discipline or are expected to obtain such degree by August 2023. Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to conduct high-level research publishable in the premier academic journals of financial economics. Applicants should also have research interest and expertise in supporting the RCB’s strategic goal of becoming one of the leading business schools at the forefront of transforming business education and research in the areas of financial innovation and entrepreneurship, FinTech, and data analytics. Opportunities for conducting research in these areas are excellent with faculty provided significant research budgets, data support and access to many similarly interested colleagues in the Department and other units in the RCB including the Institute for Insight, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute, and the School of Accountancy. The Department of Finance organizes and hosts an annual fintech research conference in partnership with the Review of Financial Studies along with an annual boutique conference in conjunction with the RCB’s Center for the Economic Analysis of Risk (CEAR). RCB is among the first U.S. business schools to operate a FinTech Laboratory. Further, RCB serves as the host institution for the Georgia FinTech Academy, a public-private partnership that brings together Georgia’s fintech business community with all 26 colleges and universities that make up the University System of Georgia to develop future leaders in the sector through innovative educational programs. Robinson has broad and deep relationships with the Atlanta business community through its insight (analytics) labs focusing on fintech, legal analytics, operations, and social media.
