Department: Microbiology Position: Assistant Professor Rank: Tenure-track

Description: The Department of Microbiology (microbiology.osu.edu) at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the areas of microbial physiology and/or synthetic biology. The successful candidate will establish an independent research program and contribute to teaching in the Department of Microbiology. Research interests of our faculty include microbial physiology, molecular biology, environmental microbiology and ecology, pathogenesis, and microbiome science.

Qualifications: A PhD in microbiology, biochemistry, or a related field. Postdoctoral experience with a demonstrated record of productivity is required. As a campus with a diverse student body, we encourage applications from women and underrepresented minority groups. Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
