The Niels Bohr International Academy (NBIA) invites applications for up to two postdoctoral fellowships in astroparticle physics. The appointments are for a period of two years, starting in Fall 2019, and can be extended by one year subject to performance. The NBIA is an independent centre of excellence hosted by the Niels Bohr Institute (NBI) and functions as the primary centre of fundamental research in the physical sciences and mathematics.

The astroparticle physics group at NBI has a broad interest, studying the interfaces between astrophysics, cosmology, and fundamental physics. The successful applicants are expected to conduct research in multi-messenger astrophysics with a focus on high-energy neutrino emission and its observation in present and future neutrino telescopes. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong analytical skills, who have previous experience in the modelling of high-energy neutrino sources and/or the statistical analysis of multi-messenger data. A close collaboration with the NBI IceCube group is also expected.

Postdoctoral Fellows receive a competitive salary (including pension) and funds for travel and computing. Generous parental leave, state-subsidised childcare, vacation, and full medical care are provided to employees in Denmark. A favourable tax scheme is generally granted to international researchers.

The University of Copenhagen wishes to reflect the diversity of society and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates regardless of personal background. The primary criterion for the evaluation of candidates is the excellence of their research.

To guarantee full consideration applications should be received before December 16, 2018. Later applications will be considered until the position is filled.
