| The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology (BMP) invites applications for a tenure-track position in the area of CHEMICAL BIOLOGY at the level of ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR. Successful candidates will develop innovative programs using synthetic, combinatorial, medicinal or mechanistic chemistry to investigate fundamental biological problems at the interface of chemistry and biology. Of particular interest are highly collaborative researchers who can contribute a chemical perspective to major new campus-wide initiatives in RNA therapeutics, stem cell biology and gene therapy. The BMP Department occupies two floors in a state-of-the-art 350,000 square-foot research building whose open-laboratory design facilitates interactions with the neighboring Departments of Neurobiology, Cancer Biology, and Medicine, as well as Programs in Bioinformatics and Integrative Biology and Gene Function and Expression. The space is well-equipped for synthetic chemistry with two NMR spectrometers and in-house facilities for mass spectrometry, biological imaging, and high-throughput small molecule screening.
