The University of Oregon Department of Economics invites applications for the Nancy and David Petrone Endowed Chair in Economics to begin Fall 2022. This position will carry tenure and candidates will be considered for appointment at either the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related discipline and an established record of outstanding research that includes a significant number of publications in high quality scholarly journals in the field of economics. The successful candidate will also have an established record of, or otherwise demonstrate skills required for, excellence in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level economics courses, with a preference for candidates who demonstrate potential for high quality mentorship of graduate and undergraduate research. Applications from all areas of economics are invited, though preference will be given to candidates whose research complements the department’s research strengths. 

Candidates should submit 1) a cover letter, 2) a CV, 3) a summary of courses taught (or related instructional activity) and evidence of teaching effectiveness, and 4) a statement of contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
