The Department of Astronomy at Boston University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position to begin on July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will be an early-career astrophysicist who will lead a robust research program and participate fully in the department’s teaching mission. Minimum qualifications include a PhD, with postdoctoral experience expected in Astronomy, Physics, or related field. Applications from all areas of astrophysics will be considered. Applications from astrophysicists with strong research programs in the following areas are particularly encouraged: star-planet interactions in exoplanet systems; early galaxies; the interstellar medium; and “big data” applications to astrophysics. In addition to this position, the Department of Astronomy expects to search for several additional faculty members over the next five years.
