Position Description:    

Chapman University’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders seeks applications for a non-tenure track, Assistant Professor in Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences.

The department is located on the Rinker Health Science campus in Irvine, California. The campus is home to several current accredited, graduate health science professional programs, including physical therapy, pharmacy, and physician assistant studies. The campus is distinguished by innovative teaching, learning and research laboratories and classrooms with an emphasis on inter-professional education, evidence-based practice, and health promotion and injury/disease prevention. The Rinker campus is strategically located near numerous health service, medical device, and biopharmaceutical companies. Chapman University offers traditional undergraduate programs in the arts and sciences and select- pre-professional and graduate programs. Qualifications

Requirements Include:

Excellence in teaching Clinical supervision experience Knowledge of health care issues Commitment to working in an inter-professional health services environment Doctorate or a master’s degree in communication disorders CCC-SLP certification Eligibility for CA license

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, have expertise in working with adults with neurological problems, have experience supervising graduate students and have knowledge of managing a university clinic. Responsibilities Graduate teaching and supervision in adult neurological communication disorders including aphasia, motor speech disorders, and/or cognitive impairments.
