*** The account for High Energy Physics, University of Texas at Arlington has expired. ***

The University of Texas high energy physics group has an available position for a postdoctoral research associate to work on the ATLAS experiment.  The UTA faculty involved in the ATLAS experiment are Haleh Hadavand, Amir Farbin, Kaushik De, and Andrew White. The group currently participates in Higgs, Supersymmetry, cutting edge machine learning techniques applied to HEP, and is a major player in the computing infrastructure of ATLAS.  The group is involved in Phase 2 upgrade work on the low voltage power supplies and pre-Processor of the ATLAS Tile calorimeter as well as software upgrades necessary for HL-LHC.

The candidate will be expected to play a leading role in the group's activities in data analysis related to searches for physics beyond the standard model and use innovative machine learning techniques to aid in new searches.  The group is particularly interested in researching potential improvement to calorimeter based reconstruction using machine learning techniques.

The group is looking for an outstanding applicant who has obtained, or is about to obtain, a Ph.D. in Experimental Particle Physics or a closely related field.  Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
