The Kavli IPMU invites applicants for a Full professor position who can assist the Director in the role of Deputy Director. The successful candidate is expected to take an active role in research programs of Kavli IPMU, namely mathematics, physics, astronomy, and statistics, as well as responsibility in operation of the institute, such as handling reviews, reporting, and running committees. Experience with some management role is desirable. The application should include a CV, research statement, publication list, and at least six letters of recommendation.

Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU), the University of Tokyo Institutes for Advanced Study, has ambitious goal to discover the fundamental laws of nature and to understand the universe from the synergistic perspectives of mathematics, theoretical and experimental physics, astronomy, and statistics. It is an international research institute with English as its official language established in October 2007. Kavli IPMU is on the Kashiwa campus of the University of Tokyo and has a Kamioka Satellite. More than a half of its full scientific members come from outside Japan.
