The Nuclear and Particle Physics groups at the University of Kentucky seek a postdoctoral researcher in the fields of Theoretical Nuclear and/or Particle Physics to join the research group of Prof. Susan Gardner. Candidates will have received a recent Ph.D. and have research interests in phenomenological areas of nuclear and/or particle physics pertinent to the search, identification, and/or interpretation (in terms thereof) of physics beyond the Standard Model.

Areas of interest include fundamental symmetries and their violation, neutron physics, dark matter and possible astrophysical probes thereof, QCD and effective theories, and neutrino physics. The Department of Physics and Astronomy hosts a strong experimental program in searches for new physics through low-energy precision measurements, with efforts at Fermilab, Los Alamos, and Oak Ridge National Laboratories.

The position is based at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, though Gardner is also a member of the newly funded NSF hub N3AS -- Network for Neutrinos, Nuclear Astrophysics, and Symmetries (

Candidates should submit a cover letter, a CV, a statement of research interests, a publications list, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted on their behalf.
