The Physics Department at Stanford University invites you to apply for a postdoctoral position on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

The Stanford group, led by Assistant Professor Lauren Tompkins, is deeply involved in the ATLAS Fast TracKer (FTK) project as well as analyses of Higgs boson production, standard model QCD measurements and exotic dark matter searches. FTK is a hardware based track finder for the ATLAS experiment undergoing a phased installation. If selected, you would join our highly dedicated and motivated team based at CERN in the commissioning of the FTK hardware system and software for at least the first year the posting. You would also be involved in physics analyses with Stanford group members.

You must have a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics or astro particle physics. Experience with trigger and data acquisition systems, detector hardware systems or technical computing is desired but not required. The most important qualifications are a demonstrated ability to tackle new problems and an eagerness to work collaboratively. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
