The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate prior leadership experience, growth management in an emerging unit and the ability to form and cement ties across multiple constituencies within ENI, the College, the University and the metropolitan community more generally. An important responsibility of the Director will be to develop the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation across the University as well as connecting the University to the broader entrepreneurial community in the region. The position will be located in Atlanta, Georgia. Our location in the vibrant City of Atlanta provides students with rich and varied opportunities to engage in real world study and service beyond the boundaries of the classroom. Atlanta ranks in the top 10-20 of most recently published startup and entrepreneurial surveys. Georgia State competes on various dimensions with other educational institutions in this region for “share of mind” related to entrepreneurship, but we’re differentiated by different disciplinary foci and student body demographics. There are many external organizations involved in the ENI mission throughout metropolitan Atlanta.

The director could have a variety of different disciplinary backgrounds, but must have a demonstrable record of success building world class academic programs in entrepreneurship and innovation. The new director must be adept at working with faculty, staff, a diverse student body, community partners, alumni, and donors.
