Position Description:    

Boston University’s Core Curriculum Program in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in the Core Natural Sciences, beginning July 1, 2018. This is a teaching faculty position, and is a non-research, non-tenure track appointment. Duties will include working collaboratively with other faculty on team-taught courses, working with the senior laboratory coordinator, leading weekly discussion and laboratory sections, presenting lectures, and helping to work with course faculty to develop and implement new curricula. Courses are at the freshman and sophomore level and cover both the physical and life sciences. Topics include astronomy, earth sciences, evolution and biological anthropology during the fall semester and quantum theory, relativity and biology during the spring semester. The initial appointment is for one year, with a possibility of renewal. Lecturers must have a Ph.D. in or related to the physical or life sciences, established teaching skills, an ability to work well in a collaborative environment, and a strong interest in teaching within a general education curriculum.
