Professor of Practice in Accounting

Lehigh University’s Department of Accounting seeks an experienced accounting professional for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Professor of Practice. The initial 3-year appointment will begin August 15, 2018. The candidate should have significant practical experience, demonstrated success in public and/or corporate accounting positions and substantial first-hand knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards. The individual must have a relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) and at least an undergraduate degree in business. A M.S. in Accounting or M.B.A. is strongly preferred.


As full-time faculty members, Professors of Practice are expected to be on campus full-time during the academic year, which typically runs from mid-August through mid-May, and to fulfill both teaching and service responsibilities. The teaching load is eight course sections per academic year (normally four per semester), which may include several different accounting courses. There is additional compensation for summer teaching. The ideal candidate should be able to teach a variety of accounting courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing and accounting information systems. Candidates should specify on their resumes any prior teaching experience and specific accounting courses that they have taught and/or are capable of teaching.
