Postdoctoral Associate Experimental Particle Physics Cornell University
The Cornell Laboratory for Accelerator-based Sciences and Education (CLASSE) at Cornell University has an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate to work on the CMS experiment at the LHC. The Cornell CMS group has a broad involvement in many aspects of the experiment, from data analysis to detector operations and HL-LHC detector upgrades. In addition, Cornell's experimental HEP group plans to extend into areas other than the CMS experiment, such as Dark Matter searches.
We are particularly interested in strengthening the group working on searches for Beyond the Standard Model physics at CMS, and on building up the team that will work on design and integration of the phase-2 forward pixel detector. Depending on interest and availability of funding, part-time involvement in other areas of the High Energy program is possible as well. The successful candidate would be based largely in Ithaca.
A PhD in experimental high energy physics is required. Appointments are nominally for one year with the possibility of renewal up to five years total, subject to mutual satisfaction and the availability of funds under our NSF grant. Applications should be submitted at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/11036 and should include a CV, a list of publications, a statement of research interests, and three letters of recommendation. Complete applications will be considered immediately. For information about the position, contact Prof. Julia Thom-Levy at jt297@cornell.edu.
