Position Summary: Berkeley Lab’s Physics Division has an opening for a High Performance Computing Postdoctoral Scholar. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work with the Berkeley Lab’s (LBNL) ATLAS software group leads the development of Athena, the application framework of the ATLAS collaboration at CERN, with a focus on enabling concurrency on modern heterogeneous architectures and on optimizing HPC workflows. The ATLAS software group is a collaboration between the Physics and Computing Research Divisions and has a strong track record in Computational Physics research, including data-driven pattern recognition algorithms, post-Moore architectures (including neuromorphic and quantum systems), data analysis tools and workflows on HPC, new algorithms and software for Monte Carlo event generator and simulation.
