Position Description:    

The Department of French & Italian, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. With 38 departments, 20+ world-class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members, students have the unique opportunity to study with the best artists, scholars, and scientists in their field. The Department of French and Italian in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Contemporary Italian Studies. This is a one-year, non-tenure track appointment with the potential for renewal of up to three years. Candidates with strong interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary interests are especially encouraged to apply. Teaching duties include graduate and undergraduate courses in English and Italian and directing a dissertation workshop. A compelling research agenda, demonstrated excellence in and commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and research, and native or near-native fluency in Italian and English are required. Ph.D. In Italian or a related field required by the time of appointment (August 16, 2018).
