The new established Department of Earth System Sciences, Tsinghua University, joint with California Institute of Technology and University of Cambridge that provide postdoc fellowship on interdisciplinary research on applied energy, climate change and sustainability. We seek four Post-Doctoral Research Scholars to lead the interdisciplinary research group. The focus of the research could be (but not limited to) on one of the following areas:

1. Climate science and mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions; de-carbonization of energy system.

2. Data driven analysis on anthropogenic carbon budget especially in developing countries.

3. Co-benefits of mitigating anthropogenic carbon emissions and the air pollution emissions.

4. Quantitative measurements of carbon footprints and environmental impacts embodied in international trade, and the assessment of regional and global sustainability

Job Requirements:

Candidates should receive their Ph.D. degrees at any university in the world though proficiency in English is required. Tsinghua University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer. Compensation:

The fellowship provides a competitive annual salary plus staff benefits and comes with a small research discretionary fund. The fellowships are two years guaranteed with another two years contingent on satisfactory review.

The position and salary will be provided by Tsinghua University, Beijing, but research can be conducted in United States (California Institute of Technology) or United Kingdom (University of Cambridge) upon meeting the visa requirements.
