Position Description:    

The Department of French & Italian, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Senior Lecturer in Italian to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. The Department of French and Italian at The Ohio State University invites applications for a one, two, or three-year, renewable appointment as a benefits-eligible Senior Lecturer in Italian with classes starting August 20, 2018. The successful candidate will have native or near-native fluency in Italian and English, college-level teaching experience, a strong teaching record, and working knowledge of instructional technology and best pedagogical practices. The area of specialization is open, but publications in Second Language Acquisition and/or Foreign Language Pedagogy as well as experience in undergraduate language program direction and teacher training are desirable. The position carries a three-course per semester teaching load (primarily elementary level, but some upper-level content courses are possible) and service responsibilities assisting the director of the Italian Language Program in curriculum development and course coordination. PhD in Italian must be obtained by August 2018.
