The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) is a pioneer of purpose-driven science and Cornell University’s second largest college. The questions we probe and the answers we seek focus on three overlapping concerns: natural and human systems; food, energy and environmental resources; and social, physical and economic well-being.

The Department of Animal Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs on the biology and management of food, laboratory, and companion animal species. Our research programs advance our understanding of animal biology and address local and global issues facing animal industries today. Our goals are to discover and develop new techniques and information to benefit animals, agriculture, and human health challenges facing animal industries today.  The Department’s 16 faculty members, many internationally recognized, have diverse interests in animal management, reproduction, breeding, genetics, physiology, nutrition, and growth biology.

The department is currently searching for an individual to fill the position of Lecturer. This position is a full-time 9-month appointment. Teaching responsibility will be: Fall semester - BIOAP 1100 lab sections and Ezra’s Farm activities, transition to BIOAP 1100 lectures (approximately 50%) and advising; Spring semester - ANSC 2410 laboratory (2-3 sections), reproductive biology course to meet department’s needs (2-3 credits), advising.    

This is a full-time (40 hours / week) 9-month academic-year appointment. This is a three-year appointment with possible extension depending on funding and performance. 

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD coupled with significant teaching experience.
  • Expertise in reproductive physiology is necessary. 
  • A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and advising is essential.
