Position Description:    

The Department of Religious and Theological Studies at Merrimack College invites applications for a Lecturer of Religious and Theological Studies with expertise in Christian Social Ethics. Additional expertise in any of the following is also desirable: Catholic Social Thought, political theology, sexual ethics, theology of marriage and family, and environmental ethics. Understanding and support of Merrimack’s Catholic and Augustinian mission is essential.

This is a one year, non-tenure track appointment, beginning in September 2018, with possible annual renewal. The successful candidate must hold a PhD, ThD or STD in the field, and must also designate excellence in teaching and scholarship. Responsibilities include teaching introductory level courses in religious and theological studies, and courses in social ethics. The successful candidate may be asked to attend department meetings from time to time, but have no other responsibilities for faculty service or advising duties beyond office hours for students in h/h courses. The course load is 4-4, usually with two preparations. The search will remain open until the position is filled. Merrimack is a four-year liberal arts college with strong professional programs in business, science and education, founded and sponsored by the Order of Saint Augustine.
