Postdoctoral Scholar in Law and Psychology

The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scholar with expertise in law and psychology for the Academic Year 2018-2019, with a possibility of a second year based on availability of funds. This scholar will be expected to conduct his or her own independent program of research as well as assist and collaborate with other Law and Psychology faculty on various NSF funded research projects. The scholar will help build and expand the current Law and Psychology programs through programming and informal mentoring of MS and PhD students. No teaching is required.

The School is presently rebuilding and expanding, including adding seven new tenure-track faculty, four new lecturers and a new School Director in the past two years. The School is home to very successful online and campus-based undergraduate Psychology and Forensic Psychology programs as well as a Masters in Psychology, a Masters in Forensic Psychology, and a PhD program in Law and Psychology.

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate must a) have a doctoral degree in psychology, law or related by the time of appointment; and, b) a record reflecting training and experience relevant to the field of law and psychology.

Desired Qualifications: a) research experience and interests that align with current faculty expertise in legal judgment and decision making, social cognition, and research at the intersection of legal reasoning and moral reasoning; b) prior evidence of grant-seeking behavior; and, c) interest in promoting interdisciplinary collaborations in research.
