A full-time Lab Prep position in Molecular and Cell Biology teaching labs is available starting in September 2018 in the Department of Biology at Duke University. The position covers the academic year (September through May) and requires an average of 40 hrs/week. Workload varies with different lab exercises and teaching schedules. Only candidates with a recent BS or higher degree will be considered. Basic laboratory experience in molecular biology will be preferred. Duties include but are not limited to: standard laboratory maintenance, checking and ordering supplies, media and reagent preparation, basic care of live material (fruit flies, microbe cultures, etc.), troubleshooting experimental problems, help during lab setup and during lab teaching sessions. Tasks will be demonstrated and explained.
This position pays $15.91 per hour and is benefits eligible.
