The Cooke lab at the Department of Physics, McGill University in Montreal, Quebec Canada has an immediate opening for a post-doctoral researcher in the field of ultrafast electron optics and terahertz science. The group is actively involved in the application of high field THz pulses to control the motion of femtosecond duration electron pulses, advanced forms of ultrafast THz spectroscopy to study condensed matter systems and novel photonic platforms to control THz light. The position requires a PhD in Physics or related discipline and experience in ultrafast laser systems and THz spectroscopy. Experience in vacuum techniques, electron optics, methods for generation and detection of intense THz pulses and electromagnetic simulation software is an asset. The initial appointment is for a period of one year, starting as early as October 2018 and renewable upon mutual agreement.
