Position Description:    

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SOCIOLOGY LEHIGH UNIVERSITY. The Department of Sociology & Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Sociology, effective Fall 2019. The successful candidate will have a primary area of research in social stratification utilizing quantitative methods with a focus on Latinx populations. The position will be in the Sociology & Anthropology department, but the successful candidate will also be affiliated with the Latin American and Latino Studies program and teach courses that are cross-listed with Latin American and Latino Studies. The candidate will be expected to teach introductory sociology courses and quantitative methods courses, as well as courses in their area of interest.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Sociology completed by the starting date of August 2019. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a vigorous research program that will contribute to the department’s programs (https://socanthro.cas2.lehigh.edu/), as well as to the Latin American and Latino Studies Program (https://las.cas2.lehigh.edu/). To be considered, candidates must have at least one scholarly work accepted for publication or have secured extra-institutional research funding and must provide evidence of effective teaching as an instructor of record or teaching assistant.
