The SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University invites applications for one full-time tenure-track Professor position in our Accounting Area in Ithaca, with a start date of July 1, 2019. The intent is to place this hire in the School of Hotel Administration.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants with a Ph.D. (defended or ABD) in Accounting or a related field. Our preference is for candidates who have sufficient experience to take leadership positions within the School and the Area, already possessing a record appropriate for appointment at the tenured Associate or Full Professor Ranks. Ideal candidates will be able to conduct archival, experimental, survey and/or field research in managerial accounting that takes advantage of the School’s unparalleled access to proprietary data sources, senior executives, and field sites across the hospitality industry, broadly defined to include health care, real estate, and most service-intensive industries.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities of the positions include research in area(s) of expertise, teaching basic and advanced courses in management at the BS, MPS, MBA, EMBA and/or Ph.D. levels, supervision of doctoral candidates, and service to the Area, School, and College. ABOUT THE COLLEGE: The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools. The Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the School of Hotel Administration (Hotel School). Faculty members in the Accounting Area conduct research on diverse topics using a variety of research methods. This faculty position is based in Ithaca, NY. Most teaching will take place at the Ithaca campus, with the potential for some teaching at the new Cornell Tech or Weill Cornell Medical College campuses in New York City, or the Executive MBA campus in Palisades, NY.
