The Department of Health, Wellness, and Physical Education (HWPE) at Duke University in Durham, NC invites applications and nominations for a full-time non tenure-track position at the Instructor level to begin in August 2018. The successful candidate will possess strong teaching skills with the ability to teach activity and/or lecture courses with a concentration in Sports, Health, Fitness, and other related fields. Activity courses may include Aquatics, Weight Training, Physical Fitness, or various ball and racquet sports classes. Lecture courses may include topics in Sports or Health Studies.

The successful candidate will have an earned Master’s Degree (required) or Doctorate (preferred – ABD considered) in a related field with 2 years teaching experience at the college/university level, or equivalent pedagogical activities, working knowledge of principles and practices of curriculum, instruction, and faculty development. Ability to teach HWPE activity and lecture, as assigned, with a concentration in Sports, Health, Fitness, and other related fields and experience in curriculum development and pedagogical assessments to evaluate learning outcomes and participant satisfaction.
