A Postdoctoral Research position in condensed matter theory is immediately available in the group of Professor Sumit Mazumdar of the Department of Physics at the University of Arizona. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics or chemistry, and should have experience with the computational physics or theoretical chemistry of low dimensional strongly correlated electronic materials. The research topics of interest include (a) photophysics of organic semicon-ductors, and (b) charge density waves and superconductivity in layered organic and inorganic materials. The position is initially for one year, but can extend to two or even three years upon mutual agreement.
