Position Description:    

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University invites applications for an Instructor position for the Masters of Professional Studies Program in Veterinary Parasitology (https://www2.vet.cornell.edu/education/graduate-studies/master-professional-studies-parasitology). The successful candidate will be responsible for updating existing graduate level lectures and laboratories and developing up to 3 new courses and examinations for the program. One of the courses to be developed will be on molecular parasitology and additional courses will include topics such as diagnosis, phylogeny, and/or host-parasite interactions. This individual will provide oversight, organization, and upkeep of a large collection of teaching specimens that are used in course presentation and will assist with the preparation and presentation of the laboratories held on campus. They may choose to assist the students in the preparation of their final capstone projects.

This is a 2 year appointment.

The successful candidate must have a PhD and/or DVM (or equivalent) with training in Parasitology, a strong teaching background, and ability to work in a team. Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
