Position Description: Benedictine University Department of Nutrition invites applications for the 12-month full-time (benefit-eligible) renewable administrative position of Dietetic Internship Director, starting immediately.



  • Administer the Dietetic Internship
  • Manage and supervise learning experiences for the Dietetic Internship, including internship curriculum development, coordination of site affiliations, observation of activities at sites, and supervision of Nutrition Clinic Management rotation.
  • Plan, coordinate and teach orientation and internship capstone courses.
  • Serve as academic advisor for all dietetic interns
  • Evaluation of student learning and program outcomes as a systematic continuous improvement process.
  • Participate in department and college service, including recruitment and participation in decision relating to other programs in the department.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the chair


Minimum Qualifications:

·        Earned graduate degree in Nutrition or a closely related field with at 18 or more graduate credit hours in nutrition.

·        Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by CDR and be license-eligible in IL.

·        Active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

·        Five years professional experience post credentialing as a clinical, community, or consultant RD/RDN.

·        Experience as a Preceptor of Dietetics students.

·        Familiarity with accreditation standards by ACEND.

·        Experience teaching at the college/university level.

·        Demonstrated ability to utilize technology and online delivery methods.

·        Possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.


Preferred qualifications:

·        Professional experience in medical settings.

·        Managerial and/or leadership experience.

·        Experience coordinating dietetic internship rotations.

·        Demonstrated ability of effective teaching.

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·        Ability to interact successfully and work harmoniously with colleagues and students in a diverse community.
