The nuclear theory group at MIT has an opening for a postdoc position starting September 1, 2019. This position will focus on machine learning for lattice quantum field theory, with emphasis on application to next-generation exascale computational hardware. This is a joint position with the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility as part of the Aurora Early Science Program for Data and Learning and will enable the successful candidate to play a major role in the first science applications to use the first exaflop computer. Our current faculty group includes William Detmold, John Negele, Krishna Rajagopal, Phiala Shanahan, Iain Stewart, several postdocs and a large number of visitors. We also interact strongly with our particle theory colleagues and faculty in the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
