Recursive and Exact methods in Quantum Theory
All candidates working on some topics among integrable systems, topological recursion, resurgence and WKB asymptotics, topological string theory, Gromov-Witten invariants, geometric quantization, combinatorics of maps, random matrices, Hitchin systems, are encouraged to apply.
This is a rather interdisciplinary topic at the interface between mathematics and physics.
The goal, is to describe perturbative series in various quantum systems, (special examples will come from random matrices, or topological string theory, Gromov-Witten theory, combninatorics of maps), in a geometric way, using in particular topological recursion, and to study also the non-perturbative effects using resurgence theory in a geometric way.
The position is funded by the ERC Synergy grant "Recursive and Exact New Quantum Theory (ReNew Quantum)" (number 810573).
The candidate will be based at the IPHT (Institut de Physique Theorique) CEA Saclay, in Paris area, and will have to spend some time (several weeks or months) in the other nodes of the ERC Synergy project: at University of Aarhus (Denmark), at University of Geneva (Switzerland) and at IHES (France). |
