The Department of Writing & Rhetoric at Colgate University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in Rhetoric and Composition, beginning fall semester 2019. The department seeks a colleague prepared to contribute to the ongoing development of its programs in writing and rhetorical studies.

Required qualifications: PhD (completed or near completion) in rhetoric and composition; experience teaching first-year writing at the university level. Secondary specialties should be in digital rhetoric or visual rhetoric. Experience with or interest in employing new pedagogical technologies would be welcomed.

Teaching responsibilities for the year consist of five courses in introductory and intermediate-level writing and in visual rhetoric, digital rhetoric, or contemporary rhetorical theory.
