The School of Health Sciences at Merrimack College is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated faculty member to join our Master of Science in Athletic Training faculty in the fall of 2019. We invite applicants to join our growing athletic training graduate program as part of the dynamic School of Health Sciences, established in 2017. Applications for a non-tenure track (Assistant Clinical Professor) faculty position in athletic training beginning September 1, 2019 are now being requested. The School of Health Sciences consists of diverse undergraduate and graduate academic programs, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, deep community partnerships, and multiple funded research initiatives from the National Institutes of Health, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, New Balance Foundation, Cummings Foundation, and more. The School of Health Sciences serves over 550 students majoring in five undergraduate programs including Bachelor of Science in Health Science, Public Health, Nutritional Science, Exercise Science and Rehabilitation Science. The School also has rapidly expanding graduate programs with over 100 students in Health and Wellness Management, Exercise and Sport Science, Community Health Education and Athletic Training. In addition to the recently retrofitted 36,000 sq. foot O’Reilly Hall, which is home to the School of Health Sciences, plans are underway to build an adjacent facility to house the new nursing program, including an expansive simulation and clinical education center.

Description: In 2016, the School of Health Sciences transitioned our undergraduate program in athletic training to the graduate level. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in athletic training education, curriculum and course development, and CAATE standards for the professional degree.

Qualifications:

1. Doctorate preferred in Athletic Training or related field 2. BOC certified in good standing as an athletic trainer 3. Possess or be eligible for Massachusetts licensure as an athletic trainer 4. Demonstrated clinical practice and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of clinical experience as an athletic trainer 5. Demonstrate and possess a strong record of teaching experience, clinical experience and athletic training program administration experience. 6. Knowledge of CAATE standards for athletic training program operations and clinical education 7. Teaching-scholar who has a strong desire for an academic appointment focused on advancing knowledge through integrating teaching, scholarship, and service.
