Position Description:    

The Particle and Astroparticle Physics Division at the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Kernphysik (MPIK) in Heidelberg (Germany) invites applications for a PhD position in experimental direct dark matter search. The group is strongly involved in the XENON1T, XENONnT and DARWIN projects and in addition in various neutrino physics experiments. We are looking for strongly motivated candidates with a master's degree in physics and a solid background in particle and/or astroparticle physics. The suitable candidate will be mainly involved in hardware and R&D activities towards the design and construction of the next generation DARWIN experiment. She/he will also have the opportunity to participate in the data analysis of XENONnT.

Applications should include a curriculum vitae, description of research experience and two letters of recommendation. The position is originally for 3 years (prolongation as adequate) and to be filled as soon as possible.
