Duke Forge announces a new scholarship opportunity for research at the intersection of quantitative science and health. This program is open to postdoctoral researchers in quantitative science programs.

This call will fund innovative, strategic, and creative research partnerships that apply new analytical tools to solve challenges in human health and the delivery of healthcare. Candidates from quantitative disciplines (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, and Biostatistics & Bioinformatics) are expected, although candidates from other departments will be considered. The research project must have an innovative quantitative component with a focus on applications in health data science.

The postdoc must be co-mentored by quantitative and clinical faculty. Two years of competitive salary support will be provided for postdoctoral awardees.

Application packages require the following:

-Cover sheet including project title and the applicant’s and mentor’s names, titles, department affiliations, and contact information (1 page)

-Research plan documenting the proposed project and partnership (2 pages)

-Postdoctoral candidate CV

-NIH-style biosketch (maximum 6 pages) for faculty mentors

-3 letters of recommendation

-A single joint mentorship statement from the quantitative and clinical co-mentors underscoring the opportunity for impactful collaborative research at the intersection of data science and health (1 page)
