Cornell University’s Systems Engineering (SE) program has been recognized as a world leader in Systems Engineering education and research while priding itself on developing deep relationships with industry to meet their ever evolving needs. Cornell SE is aiming to hire a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer faculty member on a 12-month appointment to help lead the development and execution of coursed and programs as well as possibly teach and advise other Master of Engineering projects or engage in systems-related research projects leading to peer-reviewed conference papers and publications.

The ideal candidate will be able to excel in
•    Developing, delivering, and continually improving upon Masters of Engineering level, Systems Engineering educational materials around the needs of Cornell and Corporate Partners.
•    Continually updating materials to reflect the needs of the systems engineering program and continued synergistic opportunities, for example Model Based Design.
•    Demonstrating educational and professional experience focusing on the business and technical process of developing complex systems to include acquisition, design, build, test, and demonstration.
•    Being comfortable (but not necessarily an expert) in working on projects that involve technical areas that may include but not limited to: embedded systems, wireless communication, autonomy, sensor processing, vision, control systems, power systems, related safety features, telemetry, robotics, aerospace, software development, software architecture, data analytics, machine learning.
•    Aid in the application for INCOSE knowledge exam equivalency for the educational experiences crafted.
•    Demonstrating a passion for empowering and inspiring students to become the next generation of impactful Systems Engineering leaders in top industries.

We seek candidates with significant work experience in systems engineering that can use that experience to support the educational mission of the program. Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree but a Ph.D. degree is preferred in a relevant area of engineering.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
