The Center for Jewish Civilization in Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service invites applications for a three-year, non-tenure track appointment as an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the field of Gender and Holocaust studies. This position will also serve as the Associate Director of the Center for Jewish Civilization. The selected candidate should demonstrate scholarly familiarity with the history of Eastern European Judaism, preferably with a concentration in Poland, Moldova, Belarus, or Ukraine. A generalist training in Jewish studies is preferred as the holder of this position will oversee the senior undergraduate research colloquium for our interdisciplinary center. A doctorate in Jewish studies is required, as well as peer-reviewed publications in the field of Holocaust. Last, a proven track record of quality undergraduate teaching is also required.
