The Samuel DuBois Cook Center on Social Equity at Duke University is seeking a profession to hire as the Senior Research Associate for Health Equity and Wellbeing. The Samuel DuBois Cook Center on Social Equity is an interdisciplinary directed by William Darity, professor of public policy in the Sanford School with appointments in African and African American Studies and Economics.  A central component of the Cook Center’s mission is to examine the health impact and policy implications of health inequity and health outcomes among members of stigmatized populations. This position will support the Center’s working group on Health Equity and provide critical guidance for the Cook Center in its effort to develop research collaborations for proposals for extramural funding and design new curricular offerings. In particular, the position will have a special focus on long-term care and illnesses in older populations, both domestic and international. The Senior Research Associate for Health Equity and Wellbeing will work with the Cook Center faculty and staff to further develop its growing research and education portfolio related to China, including teaching the Global Inequality Research Initiative Seminar and the Cook Center Immerse Program.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Ph.D in health related field and experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis related to racial and ethnic health disparities. Proficiency with common software (e.g., STATA, NVivo, SPSS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on NIH funded projects and experience working in a research environment.
