Position Description: Benedictine University Department of Nursing and Health invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty appointment as Assistant Professor. Position involves teaching in an innovative, adult accelerated RN to BSN completion program delivered online and in a hybrid modality at off-site cohort locations. Areas of teaching include, but are not limited to, Health Promotion/Families, Communities, Populations and Professional Leadership. Appointment date is August 2019.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Teach courses in an online and hybrid RN to BSN program

·        Collaborate with faculty teaching RN to BSN population health and leadership courses in coordinating/facilitating clinical learning experiences

·        Serve as a course coordinator for selected courses in the RN to BSN program

·        Participate in, and assume selected leadership roles in curriculum development, implementation, and revision

·        Participate in the systematic evaluation processes of the Department of Nursing and Health programs

·        Participate in scholarly, professional, and community activities

·        Participate in academic activities at Department, College, and University levels

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Earned doctorate in Nursing or related field from a regionally accredited institution

·        Master’s degree in nursing

·        Current, unencumbered Illinois registered nurse (RN) license

·        Five years of clinical nursing experience

·        Experience with teaching in hybrid and online delivery modes at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels

·        Ability to interact successfully within a multicultural environment and to work harmoniously with colleagues, students and the community

·        Evidence of scholarly/research accomplishments

 

Preferred Qualification:

·        Certification as a nurse educator and/or in a practice area in nursing
