The Departments of Political Science and Economics at Vanderbilt University invite applications from outstanding political scientists with a specialization in formal theory for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor, with a joint position in the Departments of Political Science and Economics. Both departments are committed to building an intellectually vibrant, culturally inclusive, and academically diverse community of exceptional faculty. We will give priority to important research that builds synergies within and between the political science and economics departments. Successful candidates will be able to contribute to graduate training in formal theory, as well as contributing to substantive literatures in political science and economics; and successful candidates will be expected to contribute to curriculum development in both departments. The appointment will begin Fall 2020. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. The Committee will begin reviewing files as early as September 1, 2019. Among the qualifications required for hire is the Ph.D. in hand or expected by August, 2020.
