Position Description:    

The Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure-eligible teaching faculty position at senior rank appropriate to experience (Senior Lecturer or Teaching Professor) to begin January 2020. This opportunity is designed for an individual with a strong interest and background in data analytics, optimization, learning, and computation. The faculty will direct a growing Masters degree program in Data Analytics and Statistics and will be expected to teach related courses in optimization, machine learning, and data analytics.

The Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering resides within the McKelvey School of Engineering, with 16 tenure-line faculty and 11 full-time teaching faculty, approximately 200 undergraduate, 200 masters, and 70 doctoral students. This position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in engineering, computer science, or mathematics with evidence of substantive experience in data analytics and optimization as demonstrated through publications, presentations, coursework, or industry experience. Evidence of prior experience with mentoring students, teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, administration of academic programs, and/or pursuing additional research is of particular interest. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue professional development and learning opportunities, and participate in research activities in collaboration with other McKelvey Engineering faculty.
