The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is searching for a Post doctoral position to work in the Development Core of the Duke Environmental Analysis Laboratory (DEAL).

Work Performed: We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a background in the field of environmental chemistry and trace-level analysis of organic contaminants. The successful candidate will work within the DEAL Development Core to develop quantitative methods for the analysis of novel contaminants in various exposure-relevant environmental media (e.g., house dust, drinking water, surface waters), conduct research on novel personal passive sampling devices and advance high-throughput workflows for the identification of non-targeted contaminants. Demonstrated experience in sample preparation, analytical chromatography and instrumental analysis for trace-level quantitation are required. Experience with high-resolution accurate-mass mass spectrometry, chemical informatics for non-targeted analysis and programming experience (e.g., R, python, C) are desirable. Strong organizational and effective communication skills are highly desired.

Education Requirements: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a closely related field.
