The Department of Physics at the Milan-Bicocca University, is expected to be able to fill a Postdoc position in High-energy theory, to start indicatively in Fall 2020. The main scientific focus of the project will be on Higher-Order calculations,  Resummation and Monte Carlo event generation.

The position would be initially for two years, with the possibility of a third-year extension. It is jointly funded by the ERC Starting Grant "REINVENT" (Principal Investigator: Simone Alioli) and INFN.

The research interests of the Theory Group at Milan-Bicocca & INFN cover a wide variety of subjects including Collider Phenomenology, Lattice QCD, String Theory, Statistical Physics, and Cosmology. In total, there are currently 16 faculty members, 16 Postdocs, and 10 Ph.D. students.

The Phenomenology group has 3 faculty members (Alioli, Nason, Oleari), 6 postdocs (Broggio, Lim, Kallweit, Nagar, Napoletano, Rottoli) and 2 PhD students. The main research lines focus on higher-order calculations, shower Monte Carlo and resummation. Close collaboration exists with the local CMS and LHCb experimental groups and with the Phenomenology group at the University of Milan.

The salary range for the Postdoc positions is competitive with European standards. A generous travel allowance is also foreseen. Questions and expressions of interest can be submitted via email to
