The Theoretical High-Energy Physics Group at the Institute for Physics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz offers several positions at the postdoctoral level (TVL E13). The appointments are for three years starting in fall 2020.

The group consists of Christian Bogner, Tobias Hurth, Joachim Kopp, Matthias Neubert, Martin Reuter, Pedro Schwaller, Hubert Spiesberger, Stefan Weinzierl, Timo Weigand, Felix Yu and a significant number of postdoctoral fellows, PhD and master students. The interests of the group cover a wide range of topics in particle physics, astrophysics, and field theory such as LHC phenomenology, flavor and top quark physics, strong interactions, scattering amplitudes, effective field theory, extensions of the standard model, extra dimensions, neutrino physics, dark matter, gravitational waves, conformal field theory, string theory, string phenomenology and connections to mathematics. More detailed information about the group can be found here:

Our research activities are integrated with the Excellence Cluster "Precision Physics, Fundamental Interactions and Structure of Matter" (PRISMA+) in Mainz ( The proximity to the Mainz Institute for Theoretical Physics ( ensures excellent opportunities for international collaboration. In addition, postdocs can profit from exchange agreements with ICTP/SAIFR (Sao Paulo), Fermilab, the Tata Institute (TIFR, Mumbai) and Kavli IPMU (Tokyo).

The deadline for applications and related materials is December 1st, 2019. Later applications will be considered until the positions are filled.
