Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Theoretical Particle Physics (BSM-DM) at the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics of the University of Oxford, to work in the Particle Theory Group, supported by STFC.

The position is available initially for a fixed-term duration of 2 years, with the possibility of extension for 1 further year.

This project will investigate the phenomenology of extensions of the Standard Model of particle physics, with particular focus on astrophysical and cosmological aspects e.g. candidates for dark matter. The successful candidate will carry out research in theoretical particle physics within the general areas supported by the STFC grant.

The successful candidate will report to Prateek Agrarwal, Joseph Conlon, John March Russell or Subir Sarkar. The post holder is a member of a research group with responsibility for carrying out research work in Beyond-Standard Model/Dark Matter phenomenology. Duties include managing own academic research and administrative activities, adapting existing and developing new research methodologies, presenting papers and representing the research group at external meetings and seminars.

Applicants should hold a PhD, or be close to completion in physics or a related field and ideally have a strong background in Theoretical Physics. Previous experience in the field of Beyond-Standard Model/Dark Matter phenomenology will be an advantage. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a capacity for independent research work and should have a publication record commensurate with career stage.
