The Baker Institute for Animal Health and the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University seek outstanding candidates for a 12-month faculty tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidates must have a D.V.M./Ph.D., Ph.D., D.V.M., M.D./Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree(s) and demonstrated accomplishment in research in one or more of the following areas: virology, immunology, cancer, stem cell biology, mammalian genetics/epigenetics, or genome biology. The successful Candidate will pursue important questions in biomedical research consistent with the goals of the Baker Institute. Applicants with the potential to develop competitive research programs addressing questions pertaining to companion animals, but which also have implications for human health are encouraged. Successful candidates will be expected to develop extramurally funded research programs and to contribute to professional (DVM or MPH), graduate and/or undergraduate education.

The Baker Institute has a distinguished record of scientific discovery across a broad range of interdisciplinary areas relevant to veterinary medicine. The recruited faculty member will join a collaborative, interdisciplinary Life Sciences community on the Ithaca, New York campus of Cornell University, with campus-wide strengths in chemistry, engineering, biophysics, cellular and molecular biology, Comparative Cancer, and Stem Cell Biology. Faculty at the Ithaca campus also have strong collaborative ties with colleagues at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City and with the University-wide Radical Collaboration initiatives in genome biology, data science, and infection biology.
